Yesterday, our President & CEO Rebecca O. Bagley delivered remarks at Future of Mental Healthcare Summit West. There, she welcomed the audience to join our Alignment for Progress Movement and join us in our mission to achieve 90/90/90 by 2033: ⭐ 90% of all individuals will be screened for mental health and substance use disorders ⭐ 90% of those screened will be able to receive evidence-based treatment ⭐ 90% of those receiving treatment will be able to manage their symptoms in recovery. Following Rebecca's remarks, Chief Policy Officer David Lloyd spoke on a panel moderated by Rob Waters, Founding Editor, Mindsite News with fellow panelists Thomas Insel MD, former Director NIMH and author of Healing; Le Ondra Clark Harvey, Ph.D., CEO, California Community Behavioral Health Association; and Brandon Staglin, President, One Mind. Together they discussed how we can use the Alignment for Progress Movement to transform our policies and process and in turn reach equity in care for all.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Interim Physicians, we're committed to supporting the mental well-being of our providers. Locum tenens professionals often face unique challenges in high-pressure healthcare environments, making it vital to ensure they have access to necessary mental health resources. Here are several resources available for those feeling overwhelmed: The American Psychiatric Association offers educational materials tailored for mental health professionals at apa.org. The National Alliance on Mental Illness provides extensive advocacy and resources at nami.org. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration presents comprehensive mental health and substance abuse information at samhsa.gov. The Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation, named after Dr. Breen, who tragically lost her life during the pandemic, aims to reduce stigma and improve the well-being of medical professionals at drlornabreen.org. This month, let’s prioritize mental healthcare discussions and support for healthcare providers. We encourage our followers to share these resources and advocate for the well-being of all locum tenens professionals. #LocumTenens #TakeAMentalHealthMoment #MentalHealthMonth

Co-Founder Tend Health, Clinical Health Psychologist, Clinician well-being advocate, Professor, Dept. of Family Medicine, Mindfulness Teacher
Anytime a physician talks openly about mental health and encourages help seeking is a good day! Dr. Cunningham’s story is both inspiring and tragic. Inspiring because of her vulnerability, resilience, and advocacy. Tragic because her struggle to maintain and regain her ability to practice was not necessary. Physicians - and all healthcare professionals - deserve access to the type of low-friction, proactive, exceedingly private, culturally relevant, and high quality mental health care we offer at Tend Health. I have read countless articles like this one over the past 10 years and the resources and solutions offered have remained relatively unchanged and vacuous … mostly suicide prevention and crisis hotlines. Physician Health Programs and Employee Assistance Programs are NOT effective solutions. Organizations need to value their clinical workforce with solutions that are built for clinicians and encourage help seeking. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about Tend Health as an organizational solution to clinician mental health and well-being. https://lnkd.in/gz6r2PZf
